To raise awareness of cigarette pollution, we plan to make zero-waste ashtrays and distribute them to smokers around the town / on the beach of the town of Fort-de-France.
On the ashtrays will also be printed stickers with the Greeners logo and website address. Cigarette pollution is a serious problem, because in addition to plastic particles, cigarette butts release thousands of toxic chemical substances like nicotine, heavy metals and ammonia.In every clean-up operation organized on coasts around the world, cigarette butts are the most frequently found form of waste. Whether on the beach or in the streets, an estimated 4.5 trillion cigarette butts are thrown on the ground every year worldwide, invariably ending up in rivers and oceans.
